How to get a card:
City of Rupert residents will need to bring in proof of address and photo identification. There will be no additional charge for city residents because your library is supported through your property taxes. Rural residents will need to bring in photo identification and there will be a fee assessed of $45.00 +tax, per year, per household. Six-month cards may also be purchased for $22.50 +tax or a three-month card for $11.25 +tax. Children under the age of 18 may purchase a Child Card for $2 +tax, but are limited to 2 books out at a time and no movies or video games.
Individuals not residing inside city limits also have the option to purchase a Digital-Only card. This card gives access to all of our digital content, including Libby (OverDrive) and other online services. It may not be used to check out any physical items from the library. Digital-Only cards can be purchased for $10.00 +tax, per year, per household.
Computer/Internet Usage:
Computers and wireless internet access are available to all patrons for no charge. Guests who do not have a library card may also access the internet.
Checkout Policy
Books: 3 weeks
Books on CD: 3 weeks
DVDs: 7 days
Video Games: 2 weeks/limit 2 games
Board Games: 1 week
Hotspot: 1 week, late fine $2/day
Note: Items or books may be renewed by phone or by internet one time per item unless there is a hold on that item.
Book drops are located by the north door and across the street in the public parking lot.
Damaged or Lost Items:
Charges will be assessed according to the damage. Excessive damage or loss will be charged the new item replacement price plus $5 processing fee.
Suspended Service:
Service will be suspended for patrons with items 4 or more days overdue.
